Secularism in Nepal

Secularism in Nepal
Nepal was only a Hindu Kingdom before the Janaandolan II, 2062. After that revolution it has become a secular state. Secularism means the belief that religion should not involved in the organization of the  society, education etc. The power of religion should not influence in any sector of a country. There should not be any state religion.
Nepal is a secular state. The government should not give priority to any religion. All religions are treated equally. Religion cannot control social organizations. People are free to choose  any religion. In Nepal, there are many religious people. they believe in different religions. the main religion sects here are Hinduism, Buddhism, Christians, Islam, Kirat etc. Eighty percent of the population of this country believes hinduism.
In fact, secularism is associated with democracy. It is democracy in religion. In such a system, people get chance to be conscious. Consciousness, democracy, secularism, freedom and the right of self determination are synonymous word's in one life. Nepal as a federal, inclusive republican country needs secularism because it is multicultural, multicaste, multilingual and multireligious country. In this country peace can be established with harmony and reconciliation among different religious people. Thus, secularism is need of our country.

Superstition

Superstition

Superstition is an irrational belief of what is unknown. It is an unscientific blind faith. There is no reason in superstition. It is very much mysterious.
Many people are superstitious even in this scientific age. They believe in magic, witchcraft, ghost and other unnatural things. There are many superstitions in our society. In our journey, if we find a women carrying an empty pot, we say that it is the sign of bad omen. It brings no success in our aim. If a black cat crosses a road in front of us, it is also the sign of destruction. We believe that when a spider hangs on somewhere in our house the guests will come. A widow at sight also is to bring us bad luck.

Even the educated people believe in these blind faiths. Though they can not give reasons, they have got the stamp of superstition in their minds. they are afraid of these things. The traditional people are more fearful in this case. Sometimes, superstition has bad effect on human psychology. human mind is affected very badly and the man becomes sick, mad or dies at last. So, the man can be the victim of superstition.

Superstition is very powerful in all societies. We can not avoid it from the society.
